Rainbow Excel Basketball League

HoopLuv, Inc. is organizing, coordinating & managing a High School basketball league for Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., founder and president of Rainbow PUSH Coalition & PUSH for Excellence (PUSH Excel). This program is also sponsored by The Chicago Bulls.

This initiative is entitled REBL (Rainbow Excel Basketball
League) & designed to provide inner-city youth a positive alternative to the streets. In addition to providing a physical outlet, REBL also offers an academic motivational component. REBL demonstrates how sports & academics work together creating the student-athlete. Classroom activities are designed to strengthen the educational developmental skills of students; areas of study include math, reading, writing, language and other academic courses.

REBL games are currently played at Martin Luther King Jr. High school; Participates are students between the ages of 13-18 & games are played Saturday's beginning at 1:00pm. More to come!!

"Our children have to have an outlet when they're out of school", says Rev. Jackson.

"We're offering something not only for recreation, but something that helps improve their academic skills, interpersonal skills and athletic skills, as well as promoting self-awareness. This builds character for our youth."
